First National Merchant Solutions ~ Horrible

My wife contracted with First National Merchant Solutions in October 2007 and was locked into a 3 year contract for our business in San Diego, CA. We had to close our business in August 2010. I had been unable to find employment after my retirement from my 20 year Naval Career and was unemployed for a year. I finally found a job in Tucson which meant that my wife would have to close our business to join me in Arizona. After speaking to a representative from their company in July, she was told that her contract would be over in October and that she would be charged an early termination fee if she canceled before that but she could return the terminal machine which would eliminate our rental fee leaving a monthly charge of $12.95 a month till the contract was up. She returned the machine and closed our business in August. When December came around and we noticed we were still being charged she called them and was told that because we didn't give them a written 30-day notice, they renewed the contract automatically. This despite not having made any transactions since August and having the machine returned. After a very frustrating call in early December and obviously them not willing to work with us, she hung up. This month we noticed they charged our account $250.00 for an early termination fee. Now, why would they not close our account when the contract was up without written notice but they could close the account without written notice for an early termination fee. I guess they'll do whatever they can to get as much money from anyone as they can. She phoned them yesterday to tell them that she didn't authorize this transaction and didn't request the contract to be canceled early as $12.95 is an easier chunk to swallow a month for another 10 months rather than $250.00 lump sum for an early termination fee. She was told that they would try to reverse it but if they did, we would be locked into a contract again for a year at $12.95 a year but instead of it being retroactive from October when the contract was originally restarted, we would be locked into a new contract beginning this month, January. We have been good standing customers for 3 years with no problems and they wouldn't close my contract in October when it needed to be closed and not even a couple months following that when we inquired in December 2010. Wouldn't common sense on their part seeing as how they have the machine back and there haven't been any transactions since August mean that we are no longer running a business and thus no longer need a contract with them. I never received any written notification from them advising that my contract was up for renewal or that it was renewed. Please advise. I see that they have had other problems with other companies and when I tried to go to their website as listed on my paperwork, www.fnms.com, I see that that domain is up for registration. So what does this mean? Are they going out of business and are trying to scam customers to regain their losses? Trying to fleece the little guy? I served my country and this is the service I receive? If this can't be resolved, I will look into any class action lawsuits against them.

Forced Scanning

I've been a customer for about 4 years and FNMS is now requiring that I pay them an additional $149.00 a year to be PCI compliant. They want me to do a self-assessment, then they will charge me $149.00. Yes, I'm doing the assessment, then they will charge ME $149.00 to say that I'm PCI compliant as a merchant. They are also scanning my website to see if it is compliant. Oddly WE ARE A HOSTING COMPANY!!! Do they not see the irony in scanning our website that we have already made PCI compliant. This is simply a ploy to get is to give them an additional $149.00 a year for nothing. We will not be a customer much longer.

First National Merchants Solutions

First National Merchant Solutions has the worst customer service imaginable. We had the misfortune to sign a 3 year contract and in just 18 months have had several equipment failures on equipment that is actually leased from First National Merchants. On this last equipment failure, it has taken more than 2 weeks and counting to get this resolved. We still don't have the replace equipment, have 60 transactions holding amounting to several thousand dollars and have been lied to by no less than 9 different customer service reps and "supervisors". The first replacement unit was sent without the proper software installed rendering it useless, the second is missing in action and now for the 3rd day in a row they're promising overnight delivery. Stay away from this credit card processor unless you're a masochist.

My company also had incorrect devices shipped and ones that have failed when using. Did not find customer service helpful.

Had to call back many times to try to find resolution. At times, no resolution was found.

Been Ripped off by First National Merchant solution

I worked with First National Merchant solution in Dec. 2006. I signed 2 contracts in January and Feb in 2007. I should get paid by employer promised, (around $2500 plus residule income). However I got paid around $500 before 3 days before hearing with Labor board in Sept 7th, 2007. After the hearing, The employer used abusive language and impropriate posture to me. I reported to Labor Board hearing officer that day. On Jan 17, 2008, I received a letters from Labor Board, I won't get amount from the employer promised . Only way the Labor Board suggested me to apeal in the court! Now I have no money to pay my rent, how I am going to apeal in the court. I need somebody help to get my justice back.
